Aikido Seminar For Kids

Dojo Cho of Aikido of Phoenix & Senior Children’s Instructor

This special seminar is designed for students who are at the rank of 1st Stepping Stone or above. During this 3 hour course we will cover the more advanced subject of the bokken or wooden sword. We will begin with the basics and gradually work our way up to more advanced aspects. Snacks and water will be provided.

Section I: History of the bokken and why we train with it, parts of the bokken and how to properly handle it

Section II: Kengi I taught step by step (a 13-step form designed to practice the motions of defending with a sword)

Section III: Kendori – attacks and techniques to defend against them
